No Baccarat At French Lick - Southern Indiana

Recommended Posts

FYI - No Baccarat tables at French Lick Casino in French Lick Indiana, even though their website says they have it. Very nice resort however if you are a blackjack or roulette player. Looks like they had a "high rollers" area with many blackjack tables. My recommendation is to stay in the West Baden Springs hotel (just down the street). The dome was considered one of the engineering or architectural wonders of the world when it was built.

I'm visiting family in Evansville. The southwestern corner of Indiana. I used to live here. I love going to the West Baden hotel restaurant when I get the chance. But I never went to the casino in French Lick before. I'm thinking about going to the Evansville boat one of the next couple of days. I think they might have one baccarat table. Then it's back home after the holiday vacation. Last year I mostly played online, had a bad streak recently so I've been taking a month or so break. But I haven't played in a real casino for a while and thought I'd just go and play 10 dimes to get the juices flowing again. I've heard the Evansville boat has a baccarat table but I'm doubtful,  it's a pretty small river boat operation. However they are getting rid of the boat soon and building a land based operation.

I'll check it out and drop a report here.

Hey guys don't forget u can play roulette just like bacc using even chances.

i guess the house edge for double zero American roulette is not as attractive as a single zero European wheel but an insurance bet on zero if playing at high enough units can be used.

heres some spins straight off a european wheel from crown casino Perth.

16 8 36 29 16 14 24 35 16 16 31 23 28 32 25 31 5 14 26 17 15 2 9 31 2 14 11 26 11 2 20 11 11 24 18 36 4 1 29 4 33 16 12 36 7 24 18 28 6 27 35 16 28 26 11 12 7 14 2 27 0 2 14 28

64 spins only 1 zero !

red / black:

R11112221121124121821134112113311111

S40 opposites, SS, opposite repeat switch

its there for the taking - no preshuffled cards no machine shuffle or hand shuffle just pure 50 / 50

u do the odd / even and high / low games

3 games in 1

choose the best or play all 3

wish I had of played this instead of bacc today - I won but felt like I got robbed by banker 6-1:2 payout

25 limit in Evanspatch? Wow. Didn't know there were any high rollers here/there (maybe enough meth dealers to keep the table full?) :P

I did notice a reasonable amount of repeats at the French Lick automated roulette machine. Might start doing this while studying baccarat more on paper.

Xdotnet I find the Evanspatch reference so hilarious!  I am native of Indianapolis and now living in Vegas for 4 years.  Except for Indy the whole state could be called that!

The West Baden hotel you speak of is amazing though!  Interesting enough back in the 1970's the hotel was not in operation for a time, and there was a culinary school housed there.  Some of the hotel rooms served as dorm rooms.

i had a friend that attended the school and spent several weekends there.  Not nearly as exciting as campus of IU where I was attending at time.

I never would have thot that Indiana casinos would be mentioned on this forum!

Happy New Year!!

How is a $25 min Table considered "High Limit"?

Haha no kidding. I still like to play 5s or 10s because I'm not hitting 50%+ on my bet selection consistently, so I'll steer clear but...

25 dollar = high limit is the same thing as saying government intelligence! :P

Hey Trillion,

I went down there last night and there was one guy playing bacc on 2 open tables. Thats something like 15 open seats?? I guess they know what they are doing but you'd think they would open a $10 table to get some people playing. Instead they paid one dealer to stand there doing nothing :P

They hand shuffle the cards and the one shoe I saw was great an old school S40 shoe where the bias stayed the same the entire shoe. I wish it wasn't $25 or I would have played S40 on it. All 1's with 4x2's, 3x3's and 1x5. S40 M3 would have gotten at least +20 on it. The more experienced guys would probably have got +40. So it may be a good place to play if you play $25 units.

My wife played the "parachute" method and won a unit  Parachute method baccarat is very popular with the Asian crowd (my wife is Thai). Here is how you play.

1. Jump in on the table.

2. Glance at the board.

3. Drop a chip, pull the cards and hope you survive the landing. :P

Baccarat is not a popular game in Evansville area, most people look at the table and do not understand how to play the game so they move to the blackjack tables.

About 10 years ago they put in a Big baccarat table and I proceeded to tell them, that they would not get enough business to justify that table, and around 2 or 3 months later the table was removed and another 3-6 months later all baccarat tables were removed.

This is why I generally go out of town to find a good baccarat game with a lot more players and tables, I play mostly in St. Louis and the Horseshoe in southern Indiana.
