A major help with my winning trips!

Not only did I practice at home with actual cards, I also practiced with Boris blackjack software. It is the only software the accurately simulates each and every casinos washes, shuffles, plugs, etc... It can also do blind simulations. Let's say you wanted to know what the cards of any given casino or wash/shuffle would look like after 7 players playing for 7 hours would look like. You can also run it with casino mode where players jump in and out based on their losing. You can set the jumping in and out to fit the time of day or the day, or season, etc... You can also set the players to play any form of basic strategy or players who are bafraid to hit anything or those who split Tens. You can set it those ways because maybe at your casino, that's how the majority play. That's why my practice sessions at home and with Boris were very accurate. You can play against different shuffle machines. You can set up your own intertwine, pick size, plugging like 2, 3 5 or no plugging, stripping or not, penetration %, shuffle after every round, no shuffle ever, etc.... This software has the best Stats you could ever imagine. Everything NBJ and WCB will teach you, you will see all those stats tracked. It also cuts your practice time dramatically! Besides, not all people can properly shuffle the cards to get the actual clumping of your casino. Boris will, everytime! I'll give you gys the link. If you have any questions, just ask me. O.K? Good! I would never recomend this if I didn't beleive in it. Beleive me, 90% of my practice was with Boris, before all my AMAZING huge winning trips. CARLOS,

Your BJ play is legendary and at a level we all strive for. Thanks for sharing your insight.

How easily can Boris be configured to delineate WCB artifacts like clumping, randomness tri-point and etc. I guess I'm trying to say how well can Boris software help a WCB player vice software like Hoyle for cards. I know Hoyle doesn't do shuffling but I am more so trying to get attuned to exactly how much Boris could help a new WCB player.

Thanks

Hi PurpleInk,

I am a user of Boris. I use it for practising card play, betting and card flow recognition skills.

I think it presents a realistic representation of card play conditions you may find in a live casino..

The copy I have presents hand shuffled shoes as opposed to shufle machine shoes.

I haven't seen the Hoyle version, so i cannot seak to that comparison. I suggest that you

get in touch with the developer( link on Boris website). he is approachable enough.

As far as im concerned Boris is a bargain.

ps. Please ignore the reference to "professional blackjack player" on my profile.

somebody who have been misinformed as to the level of my blackjack play must have added it, and I can't figure out how to change it to "Nor baccarat Player".

There is a new version of Boris sent to me designed for NBJ WCB.

We will be negotiating with Ron to see what arrangements can be made for our members.

Ron and I are old friends BTW. I taught him how to play BJ many years ago.

Well, such practice programs are convenient. BUT, how realistic they are is another question. Practice with a mechanical program can do you more harm than good.

I much prefer to practice with real cards.

In casinos I prefer the 2 deck games in the high stakes rooms, especially hand shuffled and esp head to head 3rd base.

So THAT is what I practice. You just need to be sure to follow the casino card pick up procedure and shuffle procedure correctly.

But it is virtually impossible to clump up 2 decks playing head to head. So 3rd base is usually very viable especially with new cards.

Last trip the pit boss did not know how old the cards were at their 2 deck table so I asked for new cards. He redily obliged and I found myself in a can't lose game. Since head to head will not clump the cards, such games can stay good all night.

Yes, every now and then another player will sit in for a few hands. So that is the way I practice. But I play so fast they usually don't stay long.

Single deck is OK but head to head they only deal 3 hands. That is too many interruptions for me. The game loses its flow.

6 deck is seldom dependable so I never play it.

8 deck is either good or bad for 3rd base head to head and it is not going to change. So a good 8 deck head to head game usually stays good all night. You just need to deal with the clumps and never bet high into low clumps.

6 deck is all they have in the high limit room at my casino. I did not find it very depndable like you said. Sometimes I did very well. But I found myself losing more than 3 hands in a row many times. I have a hard time completing my stacks before losing it back.

I'm a bac player so I admit, I'm not at a high level of NBJ. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, Ellis. You might play those same tables in Pittsburgh and dominate.

I could almost always find a head to head table in the high limit... theres never that many players at any time of day. What would you reccomend? Play the 6 deck for a small win and quit? The main pit has 25 and 50 min games that are 8 deck... would it be better to get at the casino earlier and play those?

Play the 25 and 50 8 deck games for higher stakes if you like. A great 8 deck games could last all day. But, there you have more players jumping in and out. I love my high stakes 6 deck games here

I would certainly give that a shot especially if you can get head to head tables or 4 players max. 8 deck is generally more stable than 6 deck. Generally good tables stay good and bad tables stay bad so you should know within a few low bet hands. It may take a few trys to find the right 3rd base table or you can just watch. Are highs and lows falling about evenly (preferred)or in clumps? There are always some random clumps in 8 deck. The trick is to avoid betting high into a low clump. Into low clumps, simply suspend your prog and stick to 1 unit bets until you start seeing highs again. Also in low clumps, hit to a good hand because it is not likely the dealer will break. Give her a run for her money. But if you find yourself losing 3 in a row more than once per shoe, you can probably find a better table. The sooner you play after new cards are presented, the better.

Sometimes you find yourself winning your 2nd bet so frequently that you can drop your 3rd bet altogether and just go with a 2 bet prog. But other tables your 3rd bet may be your salvation. But if you are getting to your 3rd bet too often, there is probably a better table.

Your 2nd bet is key. You definitely want to be winning it substantially more often than you're losing it. Then you can adjust the size of your 2nd bet accordingly. Strive to get to a 146. The more often you win the 4 bet, the more you can afford the occassional 6 bet. But frequent 6 bets are a no no. Get out of there.
