  1. Dear Ellis,

I have a question about when to start betting in a shoe, looks like expert (e.g.)You and advanced player (e.g. kingfisher) started the shoe very early at 2nd or 3rd play - which turns out a good thing for this specific shoe.

I usually start after 12 to 20 hands to have a better view of the shoe type.

If I do want to start at 3rd play, do you recommend playing NOR+ and U1D2 as a general rule.

thank you so much in advance.

  2. Timing is everything here, kingfisher said he started at 3rd play using otb4l and quit when he's up 13 units. You started at play 12 when the shoe changed otb4l pattern from there to a run of 6 and choppy shoe, which is better to use s40. I have seen a lots shoes like this by the shuffle machine, when you see a pattern eg TTs and after 2 or 3 repeats, the shoe pattern changes to a run or chop chop. Thats why for now i use more of s40 which help me to manage the pattern change better. Hope this helps.

  3. Dear Ellis,

Thank you so much for your prompt reply, very much appreciated.

since English is not my first language, I would like to recap here to make sure I capture your key points, please let me know if I get any point mis-understood.

Here is Recap of your points:

    1. it's OK to build up a bank roll solely on playing baccarat NOR way.

    2. do NOT make plans to play how many shoes per trip or use what NOR method before arriving the casino for each trip.

    3. if no biased shoes or good table selection then do not play. ( ps. we only have one casino here so no casino selection applicable for me. but I can work on to select what time of the day to play after doing some home work in the next few weeks.)

    4. if there is a good table selection with NOR type bias then betting as per your NOR instruction manual.

    5. Treat EACH bet as your one and only million dollar bet so you get higher hit rate for your bet.

    6. Higher hit rate in bacarrat will build up the bank roll over time and no other way.

    ++++++++++

for now, my hit rate is very low at 1:1 so I only use flat bet, no progressions until I improve my hit rate.

I hope this will make me on the track to the professional baccarat play :-)

Thank you and look forward to your full recovery so we can play baccarat with you in atlantic city!

  4. yes, the casino use shuffle master II here and clean/program them once a week to make sure they are so choppy and unpredictable so they can make a lot money off players. they also use angel eyes shoebox to read the card when dealer deals and flashing light on the box to show the ceiling camera.

here is a question always puzzles me, do you think the angel eyes or the control system can change the card in the middle of a shoe? personal I wouldn't believe they can, but whenever the dealer change, the shoe switch its pattern to an opposite ( e.g. the run will chop, or the chop will come down one or two) and kills the whole table, we always say "what a timing!" for the dealer change. if casino do cheat in baccarat, the dealer change or money change will give the control room enough time to switch the card middle of the shoe and kill the whole table, which happens in every hot shoes. what's your thought on this? thank you so much in advance.

  5. Dear Ellis,

Hope you are feeling better every day for your speedy recovery :-)

Would you please provide your expert advice on how to build a bank roll for baccarat player from $2000 or $3000 bank roll base to start betting $15 per unit. E.g. how many unit to play a trip? How many shoe to play assuming flexible on timing? There is a win max cap per shoe and per day? And a stop loss per shoe and/or per day? Also is it possible to build the bank roll to $10K without playing blackjack on the downday since I only know baccarat game.

Thank you so much in advance.

  6. Dear Ellis, Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Thank you for the above SAP insights, I appreciated it very much. I am very new to NOR, based on my last couple weeks experiences using NOR, I find using "S40 + OTR +SAP counts" (as you described above) give me a better handle over the majority of shoes. For OTB4L and FF it's good for only a section of the shoe but can be very tricky for the shoes that changes the pattern in the middle (or due to mis-diagnose of the shoe type.) So far I find playing S40+OTR+SAP is more powerful for most of the shoe types until we are getting very good at diagnosing the right NOR types which may take more time and years of experience, do you agree? thank you again for your expert advice.
