Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. Sorry to have left with no word on my whereabouts. Went to bed at home last Wednesday night and woke up a couple hours later strangling to death. There was no time to leave word or gather phone numbers. My airlift program I was on for years had run out so Ann had to drive me to the nearest major hospital 1.5 hours away. We were in our pajamas.

I couldn't talk so it took a while to get them to realize why I was there. It's a heart hospital and my heart was fine so they were trying to send me back home. Fortunately the head lung doctor saw my xray and said wait a minute, this guy has full fledged Pneumonia in both lungs and Broncitis in one lung and they started emergency treatment. It was touch and go for a couple days but they finally got ahead of it. I don't remember much of that part - just the lung doctor telling me it would take a couple days before I start feeling any better. It seemed impossible to me that I could last that long but he was exactly right.

I realized afterward that this didn't just suddenly happen. I had been working my way up to a crisis for several months. In fact when I was at Sands, Bethlehem, I should have been in a hospital. I never had lung problems before and I thought it would just go away like stuff usually does when you are a kid. But at my age.... Hell I didn't even know that people still got pneumonia. I thought it was stamped out years ago but it seems to thrive in Arkansas weather. In New York, where I was raised, I had never even heard of anyone ever getting Pneumonia, let alone getting it myself.

BTW, one of the callers who finally got through to me said if his name was Ellis Ripple, he would have changed it too. Ha, no it was actually the other way around. I was born in Charleston, S.C. with the name Ellis Clifton Davis. But it was the height of WW2 and my father actually died before I was born leaving us a beatiful southern colonial mansion on Sunnyside Ave where a bunch of my family lived. My mother, who worked at the Charleston Navy yards married a Navy Commander named Ripple from New York when I was 5. Never liked him or his name. Been trying to shed myself of it ever since.

There was no TV back then and the family pass time was cards. My mother taught me when I was 4. By the time I was 6 I could hold my own with anybody in Rummy, pitch, poker, BJ or even Solitaire. I could already shuffle like a pro and loved doing card tricks. I learned card play logic very early on. I understood how the shuffle influenced any game by the time I was 7. Cards has become sort of a lost art since TV but I never lost interest.

By the time I was old enough to read BJ books I already knew where the books went wrong and by the time I was eight I had already decided that some day I would write my own BJ book. Bac didn't come to the US until I was already 44 years old. But by its second year here I could already beat it. I wrote NBJ when I was 45. It started right out and still is the best BJ book ever written and had better sales than all other gaming books put together. The previous book writers simply had no clue how to beat that game and never will. It's just not about what they think its about at all. Then I wrote the first Bac book ever written by anybody.

My health is getting better in leaps and bounds now that I let the doctors do their thing. I'm already better than I have been in months. By the time we do the BJ webinar, I'll be in top shape again.

I need to teach you what the game is actually all about. It is not about what you think. It is not about how you play your hands or when to double or split or knowing when you will get a BJ or knowing what the count is. It is not even about math at all.

The game is about one thing and one thing only - the card fall. It is about knowing when the card fall favors you vs when it favors the dealer and then betting accordingly. For instance, I couldn't care less about how you play a pair of 4s. It doesn't make a shit of difference. The important thing is you are going to lose the hand no matter how you play it anyway so why invest even more money in it??? Common sense - That is what BJ is really all about - common freaking sense.

The books don't have a clue. The other players don't have a clue. They play "by the book" which means they are guaranteed to lose.

So great, maybe you know Basic Strategy! Let me clue you in on something right here and now:

If you play perfect Basic Strategy every hand you will lose perfectly!

So much for every BJ book ever written and every card counting forum. They teach you how to lose perfectly while the casino laughs up their sleve.

The BJ movies? They are MOVIES for crying out loud. They are Hollywood's idea of how to make money on an unsuspecting audience. They are freaking nonsense.

So, you got a high count. The remaining cards are tens rich. Does that mean you are going to win like the movies and the card counting books say?

Shit! The dealer is just as likely to get those extra tens as you are. And probably will.

OH so you found one of those many card counting teams you are going to invest your hard earned money in. Kiss it goodbye! Those are Ponzi schemes designed to take your money. Watch my lips: If they knew how to win at BJ, they wouldn't need your money - WOULD THEY.

Far better to invest in a copy of NBJ. AT least now you've got a way to win right in your own hands. All you've got to do is learn. But you STILL have to do that YOURSELF. Having the book doesn't in itself make you a winner. LEARNING what is in the book - THAT is what makes you a winner.

But there is an easier way - whether you own NBJ or not.

There is a very simple way I can teach you wherein your play will usually be the same as NBJ - a way you can win W/O knowing ANYTHING - a way you should know even if you are an experienced NBJ player and ESPECIALLY if you are a highly experienced card counter.

If you are an experienced counter there is already something I know about you for an absolute fact - You lose, don't you. Look, it is ME you are talking to, not one of your card counting groupies. You LOSE, don't you - DON'T YOU.

How do I know that for an absolute fact? Because NO card counter has beat this game in the last 25 years. Not since Kenny Uston died after giving up trying to win. Today, card counting is a complete scam and the casinos and Hollywood are in on it.

Call any major casino. Tell them you are a professional card counter with $100,000 to play. They will send a private plane for you. Watch my lips - They are IN on it. You haven't a prayer.

Card counting is not about how to win. Card counting is about guaranteeing you will lose.

THE CARD FALL decides EVERYTHING in the game: When to hit, when to stand, when to double, when to split and especially when to INSURE.

YET NO BJ book, NO card counting book, no BJ or card counting forum even mentions card fall. They don't even MENTION IT. They don't even mention what DECIDES EVERYTHING IN THE GAME. And THAT is a crying shame! And I have devoted my life to doing something about that crying shame - that SCAM. But I feel like a tiny voice crying in the wind against an organized army of card counting gurus and casinos.

Even though I've gone out and proved my play in public exhibitions again and again and again right there in the casinos with hundreds of invited spectators watching every play and I have won every single time - EVERY SINGLE TIME. With the card counting gurus watching every play. So they ADMIT that I win. They have to because they were right there watching me. So guess what they say about it? They say I cheated. Check ANY card counting forum. They say I cheated. And they say that unabashedly right while KNOWING full well that there is NO WAY a player can cheat at bj. Watch my lips - NONE! And the bastards KNOW that! But they don't want anyone interfereing with their perfectly organized SCAM. I'm their worst nightmare.

And it wasn't just small wins. In both Taj 1 and in Taj 2, both times at the same table in the high stakes room I won $10,000 in less than a half hour W/O ever betting more than $200. No card counter will ever come close to that record. NEVER! Ha, so they say I cheated. Believe you me if there was any way to cheat in BJ I would know it. BUT THERE ISN'T!

But I did do ONE thing that every BJ book ever written tells you to NEVER do. I insurred. Not every time mind you but at the RIGHT time.

Every BJ book and forum has insurance dead wrong. Insurance is about the safest bet there is in clumped cards. Look, there is one card and only one that tells you when to insure against a dealer Ace and when not to. One card on the table that everyone can see. And when there is enough clumping you will be right about 90% of the time just judging by looking at one card. And here is the important thing. Insurance pays 2 to 1. I have many days of BJ where I won for the day solely based on insurance bets alone yet every book and advice tells you to never insure. This is because they ignore the card fall. But ONE card always tells you when to insure and when not to. To give you an idea of it's accuracy I was once ejected from The Claridge in A.C for getting every insurance bet right for 5 hours straight. Every time I insurred the dealer had a ten in the hole with her ace and every time I didn't, she didn't. I was the most notorious player in A.C. back then and the casinos always recorded my every play on clip boards. They reported my 100% accuracy to the Casino Mgr. Del Web and he immediately came down and ejected me for cheating. But I wasn't cheating. I was going strictly by that one tell tale card. But that day in that game my accuracy wasn't 90%. It was 100% which the casino Mgr said was totally impossible. But it isn't. But I wasn't about to tell them how I was doing it. I had my methods. And my methods are completely legal. But I have to admit - sometimes it APPEARS you are cheating but you aren't. You are simply using the information right there on the table that is available to everyone at the table. They just don't know it and neither do the casinos. But if you know what you are doing it is the most important bet in BJ.

See, insurance is simply called that. The fact is you are not insurring anything. Your hand has nothing to do with it. It is a side bet. You are simply betting the dealer has a ten in the hole. Mathematically, your odds of winning are 4 in 13. But the game is not about math. It is about the card fall and I can show you how to be right 9 out of 10 times and the bet pays 2 to 1. So in a game where you are hitting insurance 90% of the time it is a good idea to insure the whole table - not just your hand - but everybody's hand. Bet you didn't even know that is legal but it is. And it is not cheating. It is using plain old common sense.

See why I say insurance is your most important bet? It can easily turn a losing day into a winning day. But it can also turn a winning day into a spectacular day. You'll see what I mean the first time you insure a full table.

There are lots of totally legal tricks of the trade you'll never hear of anywhere else because nobody else knows them. But I'm in a league by myself and I have the ability to turn you into a spectacular player. You will even amaze dealers like I often do - stuff they've never seen before.

Like the pansies: Dealer has an ace up against your 11. You double down and insure. If the dealer has the ten your insurance bet pays 2 to 1. If not, he's got shit and you'll very likely win your double. See that? You've got him either way. The pansies. And very likely the dealer has never seen that before.

Or the time when at third base I stood on a pair of 3's against a dealer 10 with $40,000 in play on the table. Straight 10s were coming at me. The whole table jumped up yelling no when the dealer dealt herself a 10 and broke.

I'll teach you a whole new caliber of BJ. Something you've never seen before and neither have they. Not taught anywhere else.

The game is better right now than it has ever been before. The casino has taken their eye off of it. Now is the time to strike.

As you can see I'm gearing up for this webinar. I'll have you winning just from this first BJ webinar. But then we'll schedule an advanced webinar.

Look, I'm not bragging - just stating a simple fact. I'm the best there is.

Hi Ellis,

Great to hear that you are on the improve....we old folks gotta look after ourselves

I purchased the Blackjack manuals ages ago but didn't go too far into Blackjack because most Aussie Casinos use CSMs.

I'm guessing that the exception would be the High Stakes Tables but I didn't bother going too far into it because I put all my energies into mastering your Baccarat Systems.

My Baccarat play has improved in leaps and bounds (along with my Bank) and I'm more than happy with the direction my play is heading

I'm thinking that the Blackjack Webinar will be worth a shot just for future reference, if nothing else.

Any extra tidbit of knowledge in my quest to Beat the Casino, can't hurt...It's just that I loathe those damn Continuous Shuffling Machines.

See you at the Webinar

Oz

BTW...Sorry about the Eric Ripple comment... I blame my wacko Aussie sense of humour.

Take care Ellis...Your work is not yet done

Glad you are feeling better. I know everyone on the forum missed your sage advice. But, I have a question, now that you are on the mend. Are you aware that there is a Pneumonia Vaccination available? In fact, the Centers for Disease Control recommends that all us old codgers get vaccinated, at 65 years of age, to prevent exactly what happened to you. Pneumonia almost did me in 25 years ago, so I know exactly what you went through. I would suggest, that as soon as the doctors give you a clean bill of health, you look into getting vaccinated so you never have to go through this again.

Best Wishes for a continued speedy recovery

Well... I quit playing BJ in 2001 and never had the urge to ever go back since I find Baccarat more interesting. Not sure if I want to go back to BJ as other player bicker about the decisions you make at the table when things don't happen the way you want them too. The webinar sounds interesting but I am planning to sign up for Vegas seminar, I booked my hotel already, now to find an reasonable priced flight and then book my seminar with BTC, so I'm a third of the way there so far.

CC, don't think of it in terms of going back to BJ from Baccarat. Think of it as adding BJ as a realistic option to your total casino quiver.

Bac conditions, esp these days, are not always good and not always your best option. IF, you have another option. And BJ conditions are the best right now than they have ever been in the entire history of BJ.

Look guys, I'm not going to pusstfoot around this subject. I don't have the time and neither do you.

I'm the best BJ player there is and have been for 30 years. I know it. The casinos know it. The dealers know it and the card counting gurus know it.

When the Mkt Mgr at Flamingo looked up my record at their 40 rewards casinos, she showed Keith in black and white where, in spite of being one of their most frequent players, I haven't had a single losing day at ANY of their 40 casinos in my last 20 years of play. Well guess what - I wasn't playing Bac. I was playing BJ.

When 5 of my top card counting friends challenged me to a playoff at the Taj, they all lost while I won $10,000.

I did a play demonstration after every BJ seminar. I won all 300 of them.

I won $10,000 in less than a half hour at the Taj TWICE W/O ever betting more than $200 in front of 250 spectators.

Nobody in the history of BJ compares to my record. Not Kenny Uston, not Don Johnson, NOBODY.

And I'll clue you in to something about Don Johnson when he won his 6 million - he wasn't card counting. There is only ONE other way.

I'm barred from most every casino in the land FOR GOOD REASON.

Look, I'm 73 years old and in poor health.

I have a secret way of playing that is totally different than the conventional card counter or anyone else.

I have no family to leave this secret to. Just you guys! And I don't want to take this secret to my grave.

I'm willing to teach you at almost no cost. I may never get this chance again. Then neither will you.

PLUS! BJ conditions are better right now than anything I ever played.

What else can I say.
