Recommended Posts

Wow! This is the first time I've seen this Prizepool for a U.S. Baccarat Tournament.

Brendan Mendoza posted this Link to Palazzo Casino's (part of Sands casino complex including the Venetian):

http://www.venetian.com/grand-dragon-master-baccarat-championship.html

In the link, it explains the structure for the 2 different series of Baccarat Tournaments:

Join us for the third annual Grand Dragon Master Baccarat Championship, where you will have the opportunity to win your share of $10 Million USD in cash!

Unlimited re-buys are available for $50. Eighty daily prizes will be awarded each preliminary day. The top three daily finishers will automatically advance to the Semi-Final Round of the Ruby Dragon Baccarat Tournament. For details, please go to the Golden Dragon Tab.

In the Ruby Dragon Baccarat Tournament the stakes are even higher, with a $50,000 daily cash prize pool October 9 through October 11. Unlimited re-buys are available for $250. Eighty daily prizes will be awarded each preliminary day. The top four finishers each day will advance to the Semi-Final Round on October 12. Come take part in this amazing event. Also, If you become a "Gracie Loyalty Card Member":

The top 4 daily total finishers in the Ruby Tournament Preliminaries advance into the Ruby Tournament Semi-Final Round on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Top 6 finishers in the Ruby Tournament will receive complimentary entry into the $1 Million Royal Tournament in November 2014.

Now, I dunno if MDB or NOR will work in a Tournament structure, but surely we can sponsor some BTC members to try to win

the Daily $30,000 & $50,000 Prizepools. Plus, on the Baccarat Crawls you can become "Gracie" members to get Daily Free entries.

Now, i'm more familiar w/ the strategy for winning rebuy Poker Tournaments, I'm thinking we should have an Edge in Baccarat Tourneys.

Didn't 2 members of BTC win in a Forum Tourney Showdown awhile back?

Whatcha think?

Does anyone know the format of this tournament?

How many hands per round?

Any secret cards?

Is it the winner of the table that moves forward? Or they look at all the chips for all the tables for each round?

Only one way to find out and that is to enter the tournament. I think the winner is decided based on how much he bet at the end of the tournament who ever had the most was declared the winner. I could be wrong though, how else would you get these guys to max bet the crap of the tables.

All entrants are assigned a table and a seat for each round.

Everyone starts with the same amount of tournament chips. Most tournaments are only 31 plays per round. The two players with the most chips advance to the next round. There are usually 4 rounds. You must make a P or B bet every hand.

Tables are already shuffled when the players enter. Usually it is a very complete shuffle so the cards are close to random. So always start with OTB4L and only switch systems if the table is excessively streaky or choppy which is very rare in tournaments. U1D1M2 is the best progression to use for tournament play.

Keep track of where the other players in your round stand. Everyone's chips must be stacked in denominations

But the winner is usually decided by tie bets. So after 7 hands W/O a tie, you need to bet ties. Just be SURE to also make a PvB bet when you bet ties.

Increase your tie bets after 2 losses.

The normal odds of a tie are 1 out of 10 so chances are there will be 3 or 4 ties per round. The odds of a tie are somewhat greater with well shuffled cards.

Dragon wins avg about 1 per round. So only make dragon bets if needed to win.

The last play of the round is usually a secret bet and everyone must announce their chip total at that point.

So you never know what side your opponents are betting or if they are betting ties or Dragon on the last play. And the last play usually decides the 2 winners.

The tournament winner is the single winner of the last round. But there is also a prize for greatest total chips won as well as 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.

It is not so much about skill in playing Baccarat. It is about skill in playing tournaments.

There are professional Baccarat tournament players that travel the world to enter the major tournaments.

But if you follow my advice, your chances are as good as anyone's.

To played in a tournament once at my local casino. It's pretty much just as Ellis described.

One thing about it was that they did not allow the use scorecards... so nobody could track the shoe. You might be able to still follow the flow mentally if you really focus. But it's mostly just luck - it's kind of fun though. You are just playing against the other players chip stack - you have to constantly monitor that.

The last hand the person to my left bet player. I wanted to bet player too but he had more chips... So I had no choice but to bet banker if I wanted to come out ahead of him. I ended up at the final table and came in 4th place overall.

The first place winner caught a tie hand with chip max on it.

Hahaha chip max bet on a tie you got to be crazy lucky!!! Never in a million bets would you catch me betting max bet ties.

Then never in a million years will you win a Baccarat tournament. As I just explained to you - Baccarat tournaments are nearly always decided by tie bets.

I learned that the hard way!

You can't win a Bac tournament playing normal Baccarat.

But if you play the way I just told you, you stand a good chance.
