  1. Hi Ellis

How many previous plays would you need to look at for this?

    Cheers

One other detail not addressed in either Andrea's rules or the standard rules: Whet if you note that one of your modes in never winning more than say 2 or 3 bets in a row, whichever it is. Isn't that another strong switch signal that currently BOTH methods are ignoring? All runs end sometime.

I'm not trying to be a party pooper, just looking for OPTIMUM rules.

  2. Hi Everyone

I was tinkering today and programming *more* options into the "monolith" and realized I could have tested this system ages ago using the base system in combination with a single loss switch system...

Anyhow, to cut a long story short, I found the following the best for MVS+ using my "Find Best" button:

    1) The start favours an RD1 immediate start. I tested waiting from 3 to 10 plays using various counts and with fallbacks of either TB4L/OTB4L/RD1

    2) After the first loss after the shoe start using RD1 and after switching to OTB4L, I found switching to TB4L after three losses and switching back to OTB4L after 1 loss the best.

    3) A stop loss of 14 works the best with no stop win. You can use lower stop losses but you lose in the long run

    4) Not using a paper win option is better

    5) Use a B1U1D2M2X6 progression, where X6 means that maximum bet you make is 6 units

Using the above resulted in a shoe average of 2.8 units for 600 odd test shoes.

I have attached a pdf showing the results for the first 100 odd shoes. The pink bits indicate the switch and the blue bits indicate OTR.

If everyone can maybe look at this PDF and "mull" over the shoes for a while, we may be able to better the shoe win rate. I have all sorts of bells and whistles for testing and switching already programmed so let's get the average units way up there if we can. Basically, that's what I do - test a system, spend countless hours reviewing the shoes, come up with ideas, program another option then press the "Find Best" button :)

    Cheers

  3. Hi Everyone

I was wondering if anyone has cracked the search function.

I want to search for all posts with the worrd "OTB4L" in them and it only returns three posts, even if I go back 12 months.

Can someone please explain to me how to do this as I'll be buggered if I can get it working...

...and I've been in IT for 25 years :(

Keith or John: can one of you guys please give me access to PM's as this is still disabled. The downloads work now though...thanks :)

    Cheers

Congrats on moving to $25 units.

When I built my bankroll to $1250 (from a $500 bankroll using dimes), I decided to move to $25 units. I feel comfortable when my bankroll is 50x my unit size.

Anyhow, the next two sessions I got hit and are now playing $10 units again to get back to $1250.

I have a new rule as well:

If I lose two shoes in a row, I quit the session and go back to my program and try new ideas so that I don't lose two hands in a row.

    Cheers

  5. Hi

I've finally created a small utility for everyone to use.

It's self explantory but basically allows you to create an excel spreadsheet from a text file that contains shoes in it (in the form p23324 etc).

I've even added an option so you can see the CS and OT count.

Simply download the program, unzip it, install it, load the shoe text file (included) and then click the "print shoe/s" button. An excel spreadsheet is then created. Instead of creating a spreadsheet with all shoes in it, simply type "1" in the text box and that will just print the first shoe so you can see what it's like.

You need excel on your computer for this to work.

  6. Thanks MVS :)

It's good to hear a "blow-by-blow" account of how someone thinks when playing a shoe.

I've revamped the system I use (until that last shoe, I used a different hodge podge system) and the last show now plays out to +18; hitting the stop win of +18 that I set for it.

    Cheers

    Ezza

Well, I copied down your shoe #6 to a practice sheet yesterday and then waited until tonight to run it so I wouldn't know what was coming up.

Started OTB4L flat betting 1 unit until hand 18 where it lost two in a row for the third time in that column. OK, that should be telling me something and I made the change to TB4L for hand 19 and on.

Now playing TB4L U1D2 with a starting bet of 1. On 3 losses in a row, wait until it looks like that losing 2,2 is gone then continue the U1D2.

That happened once at hand 50-54 but once it finished, I was at +3.

Then THREE 1,2,3 (L,L,W) in a row for pretty much nothing in the third column but still positive.

It got tricky at the bottom of the third column as I was back down to +8 and did NOT want to drop below +6 so I went tip toeing with 1 unit bets to see if I could steal a little bit more from the rest of the shoe.

It did hit +10 early in the fourth column and I elected to continue but stop at +6 for the win. That 2,1,3,2 didn't help and it finished out +6 which just happens to be MY personal shoe target.

MVS (hopefully my play and thinking will kind of make sense)

  7. Hi Everyone

Here's more live shoes to test with your systems.

If anyone can give me a suggestion as to what I could have done with the last shoe, it would be much appreciated :)

  8. Hi Ellis

    In answer to your questions:

Yes, the shoes are from the same table. Two decks shuffled with an MD2.

Regarding how old the cards are, I wouldn't have a clue. I play at the "Rapid Baccarat" table where you have a workstation and bet electronically while the cards are dealt by the dealer.

Also, I wouldn't have a clue if these cards are pre-shuffled or not. I do know they use pre-shuffled cards in the Riviera Room and once a shoe is dealt, they toss the cards.

Seems to be choppy but today I played 5.3 shoes and it was a disaster :(

I need to get up to speed on money management as I was ahead nearly $1k and now I'm even again.

The play method I used was:

Start the shoe with OTB4L or TB4L, depending whether it hits +1 or -1 first.

Continue betting the B1,D2,M3 progression while winning.

If I lose, I use BP+1,U1 where BP+1 means I start the loss progression one unit higher than the previous loss from the play progression.

I stop when I lose two in a row, reset the count and wait for it to go +1 or -1 and recommence OTB4L or TB4L.

It was working today OK but the last shoe was 56 units down...and I must have been brain dead as I should have stopped play after the first 40 hands (at -13 units). Oh well, the harder you get hit, the quicker you learn :)

    Cheers

MM, just curious, Were these shoes recorded from the same table? Can you give me some idea of the sequence? How old were these cards? Does this casino use factory preshuffled cards. Is this casino always this choppy?
