  1. It stinks with carcinogenic crap floating everywhere, the people are creepy, the house hates you, if anyone is nice to you, they want money, it's boring and you have to keep the Jedi mindset every second you are "in theatre" to pick the anointed table.

My point is that it's a pain in the ass to fight Vegas, even if you could win consistently, so it better be worth it. All I want to do is fly in, make $10,000 in a week or less and get the hell outta there. What do I have to do to do that?

Oh my. If only it was really this easy!

Selling drugs or prostitution comes to mind.

  2. In the US, all income is taxable no matter how it is obtained and no matter what the amount. I think that is how the feds finally got Al Capone, tax evasion. Even if you win $2.40 on a $2.00 horse bet, you are required by law to declare the $0.40.

If you declare yourself a "Professional Gambler" you prepare a Schedule C tax form showing your income and expenses. And you better have sufficient documentation to back up EVERYTHING.

If you just hit a big win at the tables one night, I think you declare the money as misc. income on Schedule A.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a tax professional nor an accountant. I've just dreamed enough that I really looked into it.

Edited to Add: Yes, it would be very nice to see his method.

  3. Ellis, when playing at an online site such as BlackOrchid, there is no rule that you have to make bets but the live video feed will "time out" or stop after about three minutes due to "inactivity" and eventually if there are no bets placed it will automatically log you off. When the live feed video stops all you have to do is click your mouse where the video feed is to activate the live video again. Or I place a bet and then remove it right away every few minutes to keep the feed going. So you can go a whole shoe without making a bet and just watch but you have to click on the video feed every few minutes just to keep it active. At least that's how I do it in "fun" mode with the free play money to practice.

Same as my experience at SportBet (same feed as BlackOrchid). If you really want you can bet both sides at the same time and then you only end up paying commission if Banker wins.

  4. I play at SportsBet.com and I believe it is the 4-Dimes Casino. They use 6 deck shoes, have two shoes (red and black/blue), the cards are not pre-shuffled, they do a typical "wash" with new cards but I've only seen new cards brought in one time. While the dealer is dealing shoe A, another dealer will come by and shuffle shoe B. Shuffle breaks the deck into stacks and then shuffles different stacks together.

My general feeling right now is that MDB+ does not work well in these shoes. I'll post a few examples later.

  5. Mike I'm not trying to argue here but like Bobby, I was under the impression that the MDB +5 methodology was supposed to work at any table, no selection necessary. I don't have many choices where I live, 2 hours one-way to a casino with a couple of tables and then online. Actually choosing a table is not an option.

Waiting for mid-shoe is an option but as I stated above, I and still not strong on picking the best system to play even after waiting half a shoe.
