Hey, lets all get together in Vegas in Feb when the Bac people are there.
Hello all in NBJ Land! The Bac people? I have heard of the village people but bac people. LOL The Baccarat gang will be meeting in Vegas Feb. 17th thru the 20th I have been collecting names, cell numbers, hotels and will arrange to get all together for a couple of meetings. I had also asked if some of that crew would be interested in a WCB team Blackjack game. I'll be arriving noon on the 17th ad will be staying at Harrahs. Let me know if you are interested in meeting.

Thanks

John

Anyone willing to organize the bj people for team play? Bac people are there from Feb. 17th till the 20th I will be there the 17th till the morning of the 20th. If ya all get a team play together the 18th or 19th would be good. Give a little time to organize who is playing what and how etc. If anyone is local and could have a shoe or two for a quick practice round that would also be good. Hope to see some of you all there in Vegas! btw anyone know if Ed G. is still around?

Seriously, regarding team play, I was kidding about that. I have been told many many times by pit bosses that winning is OK as long as you're not playing as a team. I think all of you should think very hard before actually doing team play. The pit bosses I've talked to seem very sensitized to losing money to teams.

I think it'd be great to meet up, but I think I'll head out on my own when it comes time to play cards.

The game can be beaten very well by a lone wolf playing NBJ as Ellis and many others have proven.

Hi Mad Dog, You are absolutely correct about beating the game as a lone wolf! NBJ/WCB give us ample opportunity to do so and I respect your wanting to go it alone. However in my team play experience, which consists of playing on a team for over a year, we never had trouble as long as we didn't play the same casino in two different trips. At first we thought the cloak and dager hiding was needed, but in reality there are many many conventions in casino cities and after the convention people get together to gamble. It is just a social thing and is viewed as such! Especially having players different chip colors at a table. It looks like the boss and a couple of his/her subordinates are playing and some can't afford to gamble for higher stakes. I have never had a problem with pit bosses, especially since we were not local to either the casino nor to each other. We had team members that were from up and down the east coast. (Which is ultimately the reason we broke up, to difficult to orgainize practice and get togethers... let alone play sessions) My ex-wife and I played also as a mini team (which was one of the reasons we even stayed together for so long! LOL) I would be either at first or close to it and she would take third, when ever a pit boss would question us I would simply reply that although she wanted to keep an eye on me, she couldn't play next to me cause I screwed up her hand too many times by not playing correctly (basic strategy) :):) If the bit boss was male he would give an understanding grin and if female would look at my ex and say she made a wise choice! And the more we admonished each other for "the wrong plays" the more the pit crew would laugh! Now all this time we were usually winning but they didn't seem to put anything together except a couple of co-workers or husband/wife playing together. Since no one was counting they could care less! (we did make a point of not paying attention to some rounds by "accident" hands would be dealt and one two or three players would be yaking with the pit boss or cocktail waitress and miss a hand or two played) Well enough rambling, the bottom line is we can certainly meet and not play a team game. No problem with me on that end. We could certainly play a practice game or two and compare notes and experience! I always learn something new when playing/practicing with others! Hope I could contribute as well.

see you all in Vegas

The thing is, the pit bosses bring up the subject. I never used the T word. So I figure they're pretty adamant about it. However I'm sure there's no harm in playing together especially for people who are from out of town and are rarely in Vegas.

I have to take your word for it Mad Dog for sure. I haven't played team play in Vegas and was never given much attention when me and the ex played. But if the bosses bring up the subject it is either, they are looking for teams and will "frown" lol on you, or they are just curious and wanting to be in the next Blackjack movie! It should be called the dealer break syndrome! LOL

Hey we are going to meet for a dinner or lunch and it would be good if the blackjack people met the bac people at the same time. Some place not casino related was an idea one of the players had so we could get a private room. So far there are about a dozen Baccarat players, of which I think a couple are also Blackjack players.
