Users WIZARD Posted June 11, 2012 Users Report Share Posted June 11, 2012 Ellis, Curley, jairobigplayer...thank you for the welcome. I came upon this site by way of a blackjack search. My play and love of blackjack has continued over the years. My second interest started about the same time with Craps....back in the late 1970's. I still throw daily for at least an hour. So I am not quite sure this is the right forum for me...time will tell as I see old friends are here.I am still playing and loving Vegas more than ever! So I am not quite sure this is the right forum for me...time will tell as I see old friends are here.I am still playing and loving Vegas more than ever!Doug, I'm finding that with the advent of Poker and the junk table games, our first love, BJ, is seeing the best conditions today of all time due to fewer players and therefore better table selection. Also, since BJ now produces a much smaller % of casino profits, there is less heat and less casino attention to BJ, they seem to have forgotten their old strategies. I think that the casinos, along with me, feel that the continuous shufflers put the final nail in the card counter coffin. So they give their BJ games little attention. But continuous shufflers mean little to NBJ players and other clumpers. Fewer players mean less clumping and a better basic strategy hit rate. The NBJ 3rd base strategy is enjoying its best success rate of all time.In my last trip to Vegas I won nearly every hand in my first shoe at Palace Station playing 3rd base head to head, hand held 2 deck with Keith and Ron standing by since I was playing their money. Whereupon the casino invited us all to lunch. Upon our return to the same table the casino threw in a ringer dealer expert at dealing seconds. I could not see this from my sitting position but it was more than obvious to both Keith and Ron from their standing point of view. So much for Palace Station and watch out for this. They still have some of their old tricks. But my point is that a 3 bet progression from 3rd base, head to head against new or random cards is highly effective since fewer players means less clumping. Give it a try. You'll see immediately if you have picked the right table which are far more plentiful these days.EllisBTW, we do also have a BJ forum here you know.
