  1. What is "plowing the field". What does it do? How much can it help? I have never heard of this before.
  2. Ellis, I am still practicing and reviewing NBJ and WCB manuals and tapes was you suggested. On two short casino trips, I went early in the morning (Sat and Sun) to avoid crowded tables and playing conditions, but found few table open and those that were open did not have openings at first or third base. I waited about 45 minutes for a new table to open and asked the dealer to put a marker on third base for me, but before it opened, all 7 seats were filled. I work 8 to 5 M-F, so it is difficult to play hooky and go to the casinos. Any advice? I am anxious to play. On the tapes you mentioned the Oneida casino in Syracuse. It that still a good place to play in the afternoon-early evening? That might be an option for me to get there later in the spring or summer. Or, are there any NBJ players were are playing on the Riverboats who might want to join me for team play. Maybe there will be more strength in numbers.
  3. Ellis, Does NBJ work with continuous shuffling machines? How could you play 8 decks games against a shuffler? If I don't see a shoe game that I would like to play, there are always several 8 deck games with shufflers? Are these games an option? Will the same clumping be present in these games also?
  4. Thanks, Carlos. From your explanation, I can see where my problem was. I was practicing at home with 4 players (I was at first base). And it seemed that only two rounds out of each shoe were low ratio, with the rest of the rounds each with only 2 or 3 high cards in each round. And so I am thinking these are high ratio rounds and I was expecting a high card at first base, but almost every read of the cards was wrong. I was betting up because the ratio was high (2 ten cards with 4 players). But NBJ was not working because the cards were not clumped much and were really pretty random. I think I fell into the trap of counting the number of tens so intently in each round that I failed to notice where the tens were falling in each round! As a new member, I had a lot to learn! How long does it take to develop the ablity to look at these rounds differently and to learn to better judge what is coming in the next hand?
  5. Am I understanding the tens ratio right? If there are four players, and there are 2 tens in the come out cards, the ratio is high? What is considered neutral? One ten would be a low ratio? I'm confused? What if all four players' come out cards are low and they all four take a hit and all the hits are ten cards? Is the round then considered high or low? Thanks for your patience. I am new to this program and I am still trying to sort things out. ddbcinti
  6. For E. Clifton Davis I am just purchased the New Blackjack and the World Class Blackjack. I would like some more advice on tracking the TR and identifying a signature of a deck. Also I saw your post on the Casino Rama Trip report. I am also interested in the video tape you mentioned that could be used for home practice. I might also be interested in the NBJ and WCB audios. Please let me know about the cost and where I would get info about purchasing these audios. Is a CD available or only audio tapes? Thanks! I'm anxious to get started practicing. db
