Straight and zigzag runs are what we (NOR players) are concerned with. And we are most concerned when we lose to them. Depending on the system we are playing and the mode we are in. Going OTR after 2 losing bets when in mode 2 means we then FOLLOW the run we are being beaten by.

You are correct Peter, but dont forget zigzag runs i.e. PBPBP

Bet Phoenix, shuffle.

Didn't mean to offend, gman. That's why my post said " should be the edit tab". You now have confirmation of the deficit. And I agree, your status as Junior Member is probably to blame.
-
Gman, to answer your question, look at the bottom bar of your post that you want to edit. Just left of the reply arrow should be the edit tab. If I were editing this post, the edit buttom would appear (on my screen) under the word "reply" in the first line of this post.

This is GREAT news, Ellis! I will be at the head of the line to purchase a practice tool like that.

Oz, Zebra and Ellis have all made good points...but one thing that has been brought up could have easily been overlooked, so I have chosen to focus on committment.
If GIVEN a gold brick, there are those out there who would complain about its weight (and having to carry it home)! Ellis and I discussed this point at Carmine's after the High Stakes Seminar. The NOR Approach is an excellent tool but it, as most tools, will not do the work FOR us. It takes much study and committment, even after one reaches a level of competence.
I have been a member here since Nov of 2011, starting with NBJ and soon progressing to NOR (by a fluke accident I am pleased occurred). In the ensueing months, becoming years soon, there has not been a SINGLE day that I have not done something to improve my game. I have read the manual UNTOLD times, practiced shoes from the forum as well as Live play online shoes. I play the same shoes using multiple systems to see what I can learn from my mistakes and successes. And I use the one BEST feature of the program, I log in DAILY to the Forum here. I STILL learn from the questions of others who are having issues with a certain concept or difficulty. The learning does, and should, last forever.
This works, PERIOD. Oz talks about gaining back the cost of the course in a day, I gauge my average shoe by those amounts. I have been using NOR+ since Ellis first, off handedly, mentioned it AT A BJ SEMINAR! He didn't call it that, just mentioned how he had been playing. I started experimenting the moment I got home!
Seminars, a WEALTH of knowledge, are now paid for from PROFITS! I cannot recommend them enough!
So, now I have a question for you, my friends.... Are you willing to carry your own brick home?

Ellis, would this system be made available to those members who are unable to attend the Vegas seminar?

I am interested also, patiently waiting for posts from the attendees...

Happy Easter to all, as well!

Threes interlaced with ones are a perfect F shoe...

That explaination of F is even clearer than the NOR manual, good stuff!

I am certain of one thing; if it truly WERE commonplace, Casinos wouldn't (read COULDN'T afford to) deal Baccarat. In fact, we would be reading about it in History books and not on a Math Blog! If that is mundane to him, I need to meet his stock broker!

A MUNDANE 26% R.O.I., empires have been built on less than a tenth of that! How could he not see the implications of that?

Samples can be found here...http://www.beatthecasino.com/forum/s...l+Sample+Shoes

I did a google search and found one, brand new, shipped to me in two days for about $32. Contains WAY more shoes than i could practice on in a year!

Hi Hotcooler!
To answer your question, "I'm wondering, will the NOR manual be as detail as possible? And also, can I ask questions if I don't understand the manual enough?" Your answer is a resounding YES!!! That is what the NOR forum is for! There are no dumb questions, ask anything that comes to mind. We have all been right where you are, WELCOME!

EXCELLENT!! Loving the posts so far! And Kachatz1 has the idea that I was shooting for, squeezing every unit out of a shoe that we can! Here is an example of just one of those situations (one that I personally like).
Here is the scenario. I am into a strong side shoe (P3121413...) and I notice that the Bank NEVER converts to a 2 iar. So when the next bank comes up (and I lose the first bet of my prog) I deceide to play a little PROG within a PROG. I make the 2 bet (lets say we are using 123) and I play an addtional unit on the same player bet. I keep track of this second prog separately. If it loses then the next time it occurs I follow my secondary prog and the original prog as well. Each time the 2 iar doesn't convert, I make an additional unit...and I could up this prog also.
I know this is delving into events counting, but NOR IS all about letting the shoe tell us what to do. And the shoe is telling me the shoe doesnt like the 2 iar on the weak side.
The best part of this, for me, is that since the shoe has established itself, I am playing the extra bets with the chips the Casino has already provided me. And I LOVE beating them with THEIR chips!! So, what if I lose...nothing ventured, nothing gained. ( Pulling a Harvey). And I may just make a memory! But, I will settle for a few extra units, always a winning proposition.
Anybody else wanna chime in on this type experience, or others that we can discuss?

With the recent discussions on NOR+, I was thinking we need a thread that discusses the various betting progressions in our arsenal. Hoping we could discuss Pros (like the fourth bet in the 123 4) as well as Cons (like the wide swings of progs like U1D2) of each prog. (don't get me wrong, I LOVE U1D2). Also, personal likes/dislikes i.e. I hate to start a prog anywhere near the end of a shoe. Also, hoping to discuss which types of shoes are best suited for each prog, when is a 112 a good prog, when is a 0 bet the best move, lost prog recovery, etc. Basically a thread on ALL things PROG! Hoping to gleen knowledge from various viewpoints.

But we follow only for the number of bets called for in the mode and system we are playing. S40 m2 can have two on the run bets where mode 3 would call for one, then back to opposites, just to use an example. Remember that OTB4L tracks BOTH zz and straight runs....
