A Few Tips for Blackjack

Recommended Posts

When I aboriginal started assuming absorption a few years aback in arena blackjack, a acquaintance of abundance gave me a account of tips and actionable claimed rules; area he got them from I accept no idea, but I added or beneath ashore to them and they served me well, so I ample the time has appear to allotment the acumen a little.

Choose a low minimum bet table: 5% of your backing is about the max that you wish to be action per hand, so arena at a table with a minimum that exceeds that allotment is allurement for trouble. The crisis is that with a top minimum table you run the accident of loosing your backing afore afterwards opportunities to achieve absent revenue.

Never breach 10s: it may be appetizing to play the two hands, but 20 isn't far off from 21, so be blessed with what you have!

5s Never, 8s Always: a brace of 5s should never be breach but a brace of 8s should be breach in all affairs except for if the banker is assuming a 10.

Always breach Aces: accepting a blackjack is, as they say, the name of the game, so agreeable aces gives you two affairs to do just that.

Stick on 17; no amount what your gut says, just stick with what you have. Bear in apperception that the banker has to stick on 17, additional if you anticipate even for a additional about the amount of cards in the accouter and how abundant they add up to you will anon apprehend that the affairs of accepting a 4 or beneath are abundant lower than the affairs of accepting a 5 or added - just don't do it!

The beneath decks in use the bigger the allowance are for the player; the bigger bound in the abode advantage is amid one and two decks, but it does rise, all be it beneath steeply, with every accouter added. Therefore, in a best amid a individual accouter and multi accouter game, consistently go for the individual deck; in a best amid a 6 accouter bold and an 8 accouter game, consistently go for the 6 deck.

Rules alter from table to table, so the added player-friendly rules a table plays by the bigger it is for you. Specific rules to attending out for are, the abandonment rule; bifold down afterwards agreeable pairs; assorted brace splitting; and ace re-splits.

Remember that you're alone adversary is the dealer, so don't attending at anyone Else's hand, it's not your business and it will abstract you from your game.

The blow of the admonition I accustomed was basal accepted faculty and money management; don't bet annihilation you're not able to loose, set limits, don't action if drunk, you apperceive the type. Anyway, I achievement these tips will be as advantageous to you as they were to me

One another useful blackjack tip is to never take insurance.

At least not unless you are 200% sure that it is the right move.

Taking insurance is putting up a side bet where you are betting that the dealer has a 10 or a face card hidden beside his ace.

Some where i had read these are these useful....

1. Always Use Basic Strategy

2. Scout the Tables and Players

3. Never Take Insurance, Unless Card Counting

4. Manage Your Money Wisely

Thanks James! This is an excellent guide for novice players. Let me expand on them a little for the more experienced players:

1. Always Use Basic Strategy - Basic Strategy is designed for random cards. Therefore the more random the cards are the more you want to rely on Basic Strategy. But, as cards are played they become clumped. Play itself causes this. Clumping defeats Basic Strategy. Clumping merely means that instead of the cards coming out of the dealer shoe in equal amounts of highs and lows, they are coming out in "clumps" of mostly highs and mostly lows. Since clumping greatly favors the casino, that is what you will usually see. In clumped cards you are better off to go by the last card dealt. If the last card dealt before your decision would have helped your hand, you hit. If it would have broke you, you stand. This will get you to hit more when lows are running and less when highs are running. You are playing closer to "dealer Strategy" but that is what she's beating you with, isn't it.

2. Scout the Tables and Players - Fine but what are you looking for? The most important thing is you want to see the dealer breaking 1 out of 4 hands or more often. The less she is breaking, the less basic strategy will work. Basic Strategy is designed for a 28% dealer break rate.

3. Never Take Insurance, Unless Card Counting - This is good advice for random cards, but the cards are seldom random. In clumped cards, the insurance bet is the best bet in the entire casino IF you know exactly WHEN to insure and when NOT to. I was once ejected from the Claridge A.C. for calling every single insurance opportunity correct for 5 hours straight. The casino said this is impossible W/O cheating. So, did I cheat? Absolutely not. I merely took advantage of the casino orchestrated clumped cards. It was the casino cheating, not me. Here is exactly how I did it. The key card is the 3rd base players second card because the next card dealt is the dealer's hole card. In clumped cards tens follow tens more often than they should. So, if the key card is a ten, you insure. If not, you don't. Simple as that.

4. Manage Your Money Wisely - Always true but let me say it a little more succinctly - NEVER stay in a losing game!

These tricks of the trade and hundreds more are in my books NBJ and WCB which you can order downloads of right here if you really want to win at BJ. It pays to know what you are doing.

Well then, let's expand on those tips.

In your table search look for tables with RANDOM cards coming out of the dealer shoe or decks.

You want to see lows following highs just as often as you see highs following highs.

The best and simplest way to do this is:

Count 234567 as low and 8,9,10, J, Q, K as high.

Aces swing. Count them high when they follow a high and low when they follow a low.

You DON'T want to see large clumps of highs or lows - Move on.

Recognize that B.S. is designed for random cards and does not fare well in clumped cards at all.

The more random the cards the more the dealer breaks.

The more clumped the cards the less the dealer breaks.

Recognize that the dealer CAN'T break in a high card clump because she doesn't hit.

Neither can she break in a low card clump unless she is unlucky enough to arrive at 16 and draw a 6 or 7

or arrive at 15 and draw a 7.

How many unlucky dealers have you seen?

But neither can YOU break in a low card clump so you might as well hit until you have 17 or better.

Otherwise you are simply giving the hand to the dealer.

Your strongest position in random cards is 3rd base. (last player) because your cards are most like the dealer's.

3rd base in random cards is the ONLY time a 3 play progression is recommended. Never progress more than 3 plays. This is because you seldom lose 3 bets in a row under that condition.

Start with 123. If all goes well quickly advance to 134, then 146 but never higher than that.

In random cards from 3rd base, basic strategy with a 3 play progression seldom loses.

I have played in such games for as long as 17 hours W/O a losing shoe.

New cards are usually the most random cards you will see all day.

The game itself clumps the cards. The more players the faster the game clumps.

Therefore never play with more than 4 players.

Head to head is best because it keeps the cards from clumping.

These are just some of the things you need to know to consistently beat BJ.

All of these tips and many many more are in our BJ manuals sold right here.

Who am I? I am E Clifton Davis, the guy who played AC full time for 3 years W/O a single losing day. I wrote all of our BJ manuals where I explain exactly how I did that. There are many, many, many tricks of the trade you will learn. But the most important is how to find a table you can beat. Once you know that, the rest is easy.

Like, how to win on insurance!

How to know the dealer's hole card!

When to double the stakes!

When to get out and when to stay in!

How to keep from getting barred.

How to play a pair of Aces:

Most novice players love to get a pair of Aces. They THINK they have a great hand. WRONG! You have a mediocre hand at best.

Now, Basic Strategy tells you to always split. WRONG. This puts you in the ridiculous position of doubling your bet on a mediocre hand.

You want to get tens but the odds of getting a 10 are only 4 out of 13 on both aces while your odds of getting a worthless low card are 7 out of 13. Why would you want to double your bet???

Basic Strategy fails to recognize that if you hit a pair of Aces your first hit is a free card. No way to break on your first hit card. And for all practical purposes your second hit is nearly free because the only way you can break on your second hit is to get a second ten. Basic Strategy also fails to recognize that if you split, you only get ONE card on each Ace.

So what is really the best thing to do with a pair of Aces?

Look at what is running out of the dealer shoe right now.

If it is mostly highs, fine, split your aces. Your odds are good!

But if lows are running you are MUCH better off to hit your Aces because you usually get 3 chances at a good hand. Get it?

Hey, it pays to know the tricks of the trade! That is just one of hundreds.

BTW, we also have a private question and answer forum for all BJ manual buyers where you get all the help you need!

Most students pay for their manual their first trip out, often their first table.

Our BJ manuals are not expensive. They cost far less than the average uninlightened BJ player loses every day he plays.

BTW, card counting is a scam! All the card counting gurus put together can't come up with a single year end winning student. We have hundreds!

Show me a card counter and I'll show you a loser with a headache!
