I can't recall if the latest release has them or not.upgrades to your level of software are FREE.I have the version that still "hand shuffles", but it certainly meets my needs.Good luck !!Wendell Quote

PeterUK Posted November 30, 2013 Author Report Posted November 30, 2013 Here's how to use Excel to randomise a deck of Card for BJ for 3rd Base Play ;-) Will require a bit more work i.e. rather than use 1 to 52 for look up, use 1-13 for Spades, Clubs, Hearts and Diamonds...I may create something when I have time...Just for fun though... it would be a start to build up your own clumped set of cards to begin with...Peter Quote

PeterUK Posted November 30, 2013 Author Report Posted November 30, 2013 Website looks pretty old, is it trustworthy? and is the guy still alive?Peter Quote
PeterUK Posted November 30, 2013 Author Report Posted November 30, 2013 Here's a single Deck randomiser I've just created to practice 3rd Base in BJ with your own deck of cards. This is for when you first start... over time if you Discard the cards and Shuffle the same way the same way as the Casino's... you'll end up with clumped cards? and note the order... for next time...https://www.dropbox.com/s/iv2z2oj7ruhhmmw/Card%20Shuffle.xlsxCheap and Cheerful!Peter Quote
Legacy Players Wendel Posted December 1, 2013 Legacy Players Report Posted December 1, 2013 Website looks pretty old, is it trustworthy? and is the guy still alive?PeterHi Peter,The last time I corresponded with him was in Sept this year. The website has never been very up to date.He has a successful career outside of blackjack and software. The last purchase I made from the website was in 2011 using Paypal. As i recall, I received what i was entitled to promptly. Any questions or concerns I had about the product have been attended to promptly.Send him an e-mail , and see if he responds. Wendel. Quote

I think that with the version I own to induce severe clumping you could run itunattended for a few hours. The program will simulate players coming in and leaving and playing various strategies.I am just interested in practising my play decisions in a realistic environment and not clumping in particular, so I haven't looked into that very far. I own the advanced edition and find it more than adequate for my purposes. I haven't really looked into the other options. That is about all I can recommend.I do not want to seem as though I am promoting this software, so I will ask that further enquiries be made by private message.Probably should have replied to Peter by PM in the first place.Wendelyou could send the developer an e-mail, and see what he suggests to simulate clumping in particular. Guest Posted December 1, 2013 Report Posted December 1, 2013 I've known Ron Fitch for 25 years. I think he has BJ simulated as well as it can be simulated. But it is still a simulation. It doesn't take into account variations of dealers and settings of shuffle machine timers. But Ron is dedicated and a good NBJ player. He has frequently requested that we include his product in our NBJ product lineup. So far Keith has resisted this request.I have no doubt that boris is a good practice tool for beginners. But there was always a question about simulating clumping. However today we see less clumping, perhaps making Boris more realistic. Due to the decline in BJ popularity, caused by clumping in my opinion, casinos can no longer force full tables which used to cause extreme clumping. Today I play 3rd base more and first base less according to today's conditions. Blackjack is about conditions. It is about recognizing and adjusting to the conditions you find at a given table at a given time in a given casino. Conditions are caused by crowding and the lack of crowding. You never face quite the same conditions so BJ is about adjusting to the condition you are playing right now. Can that be perfectly simulated? I doubt it. But I think Fitch has come closer than anyone else could have. Unlike most computer programmers Ron is a player and that experience goes into his simulations as much as possible. It is the best simulation out there. But is it perfect? Probably not but it is as good as a simulation can be and probably a good practice tool. What I fear is when you practice to the same condition every time, does this ruin your ability to adjust in the real world? I just don't know. Quote
