Date for going back through the NOR forum

Recommended Posts

Dear Members/Ellis,

As I am trying to search the forum for information on clarifying points in the manual I wanted to know if there is a date that I can start to read threads from.

What I mean is, should I go right back to the very first thread in this forum or could I for example start from middle of 2011?

Thanks a million

Sambo

Some of your questions you may only get the answer to after you have actually played the game and gained experience. Remember in actual game conditions with real gelt on the line if you are unsure about something, sit back, observe, note what happened for next time.

I would suggest next time you go to the Casino just paper bet some shoes. Mark up your scorecard the proper way, keep score the proper way just don't put any chips in the box. After about ten shoes if you have questions, scan the scorecard, post it and people can help.

Sam, I think it best to start with the most recent and work backward. But you might sneak a peek at the first page just to see what got a particular thread started.

BTW, did you see your mate Oz's post? 80 winning shoes in a row? See, I told you he is a good player.

I may have misled you Ellis...It was 80 shoes without a loss...Some were zero shoes because I just refuse to go below 0 once I hit +5

I'm sure some of those shoes would have turned into winners...but I have found that I don't need to risk the loss..."Any shoe that I don't lose is a good shoe"...and after that...it only gets better

Methinks I have come a long way since you wanted to put me in the "slow learner's" class...LOL

Yes Sir. I will do as you instructed.

OZ is not only a good player but he has a great heart too. He was kind enough to actually give a detailed response to a question I asked.

Thanks for the reply Ellis.

Regards

Sambo

Ha, methinks so too mate! And no one could be happier to see it. You bring up a very valid point in my opinion:

"Any shoe that I don't lose is a good shoe"...and after that...it only gets better"

I think it totally fair to count 0 shoes as winners. What is the biggest mistake we see other players make? They get up a little or even a lot and then stay until they lose. Then they get angry and start making desperation bets and end up losing huge amounts. Had they just had the common sense to quit at zero or thereabouts. Its something we seem to all have to learn the hard way. So I think a zero shoe is the sign of a good player. It is a winner compared to what would have happened to lesser players.

Personally, I quit at +1 a LOT just so I can count the shoe as a winner. But really, what's the difference? One unit. So I think a zero shoe is just as much a winner as a +1 shoe. Lesser players turn such shoes into -50 shoes. See what I'm saying. 0 shoes are the mark of a good, well disciplined, well trained player. -50 shoes are impossible in our world but very common in the rest of the world. Ha, look at all those internet sites that are telling you to make 89 unit bets. They don't seem to realize that once you get to that point, your odds of winning that bet are 50/50! In my view, the specter of even attempting an 89 unit bet is pure insanity. What was that guys name on our public forum? Young Dave? Well if he keeps up that nonsense, he's never going to become Old Dave.

So, in my view 80 shoes in a row W/O a loss is virtually the same as 80 wins in a row. Either way, I'm sure it is a world record!

And it was only a couple years ago Oz that you couldn't even spell Baccarat. Little did you know then that you would soon be breaking world records.

Now, of course, if I were to write to Virtuoid (yet another Dave) and ask him if he thought 80 shoes W/O a loss was just a spike in random activity, he would say, "certainly!"

On the other hand, if I were to ask if 80 pars in a row is a mere mathematical spike, he would say "certainly".

After all he said that a 26% Pa over 6 shoes was a common mathematical spike. The fact that no one has ever done it before does not concern him in the least.

That's because there is no such mathematical term as "skill". They measure every possibility against infinity. Sorry but we're not going to be around that long. Therefore we need to cheat with a thing called skill.
