In case you didn't read the tweet Phil Ivey is being sued for cheating at Baccarat He won 9.8 Million by identifying marks on the corner of cards before they came out of the shoe. Didn't sound like cheating to me just found an edge now the Borgota wants their money back seems to me like they should sue Gemaco.

I remember seeing Phil playing at Borgata in the mini section at a reserved table. Beyond it being a reserved table the thing that made it stand out was the color of his chips, he resembles Tiger Woods and he had a beautiful Italian woman with him. He played very slow and intense. Truth be told it did look as though he was starring at the shoe. The shoe was feathered as most baccarat shoes are. I was playing with the masses at my table and was never able to see him place a bet.

Casinos talk about a fair game while they do all can to tip every nuance, psychological factor and odds in their favor. He was playing their game in their casino. So I wish him well in this lawsuit. I had no idea he won 9.8M next they will be trying to sue Don Johnson. Bottom line is they love you as long as you are losing.

Actually its Phil Ivey suing the casino. They (the Borgata Casino) has denied paying Phil on his account. I believe he had a marker for some unknown amount and then turned that into that huge positive amount on the books. Phil has large sums of money in casinos all over the world so this was not unusual for him to leave the casino with that huge + balance on his account.

The casino bought the cards. The casino checked the cards. The casino used the cards. How it that Phil's fault? Had Phil lost could he demand his money back because some cards were irregular? That's a laugh.

BUT, the government is out a lot of tax dollars. So Phil will be fighting the casino AND the govt. Common sense will not necessarily prevail.

Welcome back! It is good hearing from you Keith.

I posted that on 04/12/2014. In Coffee Talk Lounge. Titled: The Technique, called Edge Sorting, Post #1 and #2

Re: The Technique, called Edge Sorting:

Edge sorting is a method of advantage play that uses natural irregularities in the cut on the backs of cards to be able to identify certain groups of cards. By being able to identify critical cards, APs are able to improve their betting and playing decisions. This method of advantage play is not new; APs have been using it to beat the house for at least two decades. The advantages that edge sorting can produce are significant and enduring. The games targeted range from blackjack and baccarat to Caribbean Stud and Mississippi Stud. Casinos around the world have been hard hit by this method. And the fix is trivial.

Is there a chance to reconsider the training "Million Dollar Baccarat" that was scheduled today on another day?
