Couldn't get on a table today

Recommended Posts

All,

It was a very unusual situation today.

We had planned to go to the airport, pick up a long time friend and then hit the local casino for a few hours before heading home.

It was 3pm when we hit the door. The place was PACKED!

I'm talking every table in the place was full up. Every blackjack table from $10 to $100 was FULL. All of the other table card games were full.

And of course the SINGLE baccarat table, at $10 minimum, was stacked two deep for most of the time I was hanging around it trying to get a spot and it never opened up.

I've never run into this before and it was kind of a pain in the butt as I had planned on this particular casino trip for over a month.

Even the wife was not happy as literally ALL of the slot machines were occupied too!

We gave it a solid 30 minutes for something to open up but it was to no avail.

I think we'll plan the next trip during the week and probably earlier in the day.

As they've completely redone the interior of the casino, none of the table games were in the same spots they were the last time I was there.

And they've gone from four baccarat tables down to two. I don't understand that at all but then I don't run the place.

Anybody else run into this type of situation where you just cannot get on to a table?

I live in Pittsburgh and I go to the Rivers Casino. There are only two baccarat tables there too which is super frustrating. Just like you said it is often stacked two deep. I actually tried to play there part time, but I had to give that up. It really isn’t the best situation – since there are only two tables, table selection isn’t always possible. I just didn’t have the patience to play there part time… I started to find myself playing shoes that I knew weren’t very good which is a huge no-no!

I was talking to a dealer and she said they are getting a third baccarat table though. So even one more table should be a lot more helpful I would think.

Me and some friends are planning a trip to the Rivers Casino in Chicago next month. I’m curious how many baccarat tables are at that one. Ever been or hear anything about it?

Virtuoid (Dave) at ImSpirit would know. He has played Rivers Chicago but sorry, it's nothing to write home about and I can't recommend it. If you can't figure out how to ask him, let me know and I'll give you his contact info.

Keith and I had the same problem at Sands, PA. Baccarat, especially among Asians, is becoming very popular. They had about 40 tables but no open seats early Friday night. I ended up playing on a $100 - $15,000 table and had to wait to get even that seat. But by 9 P it was all cleared out. Those were the worst players I've ever seen.
