MVSeahog
All, Well, as I'm not primarily a BlackJack player, I was slightly taken aback when asked by a visiting relative to show me how I play online at BetPhoenix. I showed him how the baccarat game runs and he wanted to play BlackJack, so I went over to their live dealt game. Hmmm, how do you play live 21 with a few hundred players on the internet? I watched a few hands and then kind of figured out how it works. The first 4 cards comes out as usual, but depending on whether or not YOU take a hold or hit, the results are then calculated electronically. If I elected to "stand" while somebody else takes the hit, the card does NOT count for me. I learn something every day! Now I wonder just how that affects normal play where 4 or 5 people are playing against the dealer on a normal 21 table and the eventual outcome of the cards. It was different for sure. My brother-in-law did make all of $23 dollars during our test and if I'm ever in the mood for a few quick hands before doing something else, I can see dropping in and pushing a few bucks out there. MVSActually it would effect it quite a bit I think. A major overlooked problem of Basic Strategy it that it does not hit enough, esp in low card clumps. BS players tend to leave the lows for the dealer. But lows favor the dealer and BS players leave the shoe rich in lows, something the originators of BS never contemplated. So their calculated advantage never materialized in the real world much to their amazement and frustration. But if 100 players have the opportunity to hit, SOMEBODY surely will. However it counts for you, somebody has taken it out of play ahead of the dealer. I would think this would improve BS much closer to the originator's intention. I wonder if the casino thought of THAT. This could be a BS player's dream come true.
MVSeahog
In watching a bit more I did notice that when there was an obvious "Stand" situation, and evidently nobody actually took a hit, that the dealer did not put out another card for the player, which is normal on a regular table so I'm thinking the dealer can see if there are any players requesting a hit, and if so, she dutifully turns over a card for the player. Most hands expose the extra card/s for the player so you do see a good amount of cards, even if some of them aren't in play for you.It does seem like a good solution and will display more cards than you might normally see when playing one on one against the dealer.MVS Quote What's an MVSeahog? MVSeahog
Oh great. Changing names and running the same IP address is really getting a bit old. So, in the future, all of you are just going to the discard rack with these "happy posts" for future spams.Deal with it.MVS Quote What's an MVSeahog?
