Dean's shoes

Recommended Posts

This is what Dean is calling a typical high stakes shoe at his casino in VanCouver:

P1322112422

B121213111111121

B11112125

I'll start BaS40

#1 I'll switch to BaOTB4L at play 5 per the current MDB rules

#2 I'll also play it BaS40 all the way through.

Note: Dean only recorded through 54 plays.

It worked out ok playing it BaS40 with the 120123 progression. Any reason not to work it with the 121235 progression you suggested yesterday? And using the OR count to decide the play after the first 3iar and then let SAP make decision on play after 3's later in the shoe?

I was just about to reply to this thread and say that BaS40 ran through this nicely but then I went back and saw that you already DID have it in there.

Like minds and all that.

I'll head back to quiet mode now.

Dean's lost 4 shoe:

P5511214

B351313221

P534

Well, first I'll play it like someone who only knows MDB. Then I'll play it as a pro would play it - Straight Repeats.

From an MDB standpoint any time a shoe starts with a 3 or more (1/4 of all shoes) the shoe has already ruled out starting with S1 or S23.

We need to start S4. You can go back and retroactively put in your 0 bet and go from there.

So we make our +5 at play 20 and quit. The shoe does horrible after that because it contains 5 3 or mores W/O a 2 - VERY rare. I played the secondary prog all the way to 8 but still couldn't get ahead. That's why we only play it to 3 which would have given me a -5. See first scan.post-8-14500262345515_thumb.jpg

BUT, a Pro would have noted that this shoe starts very heavy in Repeats (8 to 1). We ALWAYS need to be on the lookout for heavy Repeats or Opposites because they produce "gift" easy to beat shoes simply betting Repeats or Opposites W/O playing any system.

BTW, Keith just had such a shoe right off the bat in Vegas (preshuffled cards). So he bet straight Repeats and started his trip +15.

Look, Repeats and Opposites (unlike PvB) are mathematically equal so EVERY shoe favors one or the other if it isn't dead equal.

So it's a question of degree. BUT when a shoe starts right out with 4 Repeats the pro already knows what he is going to play - straight Repeats.

His only question is what prog to play???

Keith played 234

But I happen to know that any shoe that does well with 234 does even better with 345 - See your NOR manual.

But seeing that this shoe starts 8 Rs to 1 O I'm going even a little heavier than 345.

I would go U1D1M3 - That's up 1 on a loss, down 1 on a win, basing at 3 units.

That SOUNDS very aggressive but it really isn't.

Consider that when you lose 3 bets playing a 123, you are down 6 first bets.

But when you lose 3 bets playing a 345 you are only down 4 first bets. See that?

Also check your PA. The higher your PA the lower your risk.

In this case I achieve a 32.6% PA. (Vs a card counter's target 1/2% PA). That's about as close to NO risk as you can get.

All of this stuff is already on the forum. It is just a question of study, practice and experience.

But this one is a no brainer. See second scan.

The moral of the story is that esp. with regular cards, extremes happen. They are caused by the shuffle.

So when you see high Repeats, forget everything and bet Repeats.

Well I started with BaS40M1 on the 10th hand.

Then switched to OTB4L on the 19th hand and ended up 5-...

Had I stayed with a strong BaS40 with 1,2:0-1-2-3 progression I would have hit 5+ had I started the shoe on the 2nd hand otherwise I would have started on the 10th hand and just broke even instead of losing 5-...

What do you all think?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Dean
