Users dweezel7 Posted May 9, 2010 Users Report Share Posted May 9, 2010 I have been reading what the Wizard of Odds says about betting systems: http://wizardofodds.com/gambling/bettingsystems.htmlHe says that there is no way to beat the casino in any game. I see that several people on this site claim to be winning consistantly and am wondering if this is real, or just more bull from shills. I would like to win, of course, but have no interest in gambling per se. I have been browsing around this site and it is very confusing. How can I really beat the casino? Is there a system here that actually works and what do I have to do to learn it? I don't care what game it is. I will join the private forums if there is really a chance to win consistantly. Thanks! Thanks!Depends what you mean by beat the casino. If you mean win money consistently, the answer is yes. How much money do you want to win per session? If you tell me that and what your bankroll is I'll tell you if it's possible or not. If you mean breaking the casino, and winning $100,000 in a weekend, bring only $500 to start off with, the answer is no. That's not possible. But it is definitly possible to make serious money consistently. There is an approach that will do that with very little risk. It involves Baccarat, and an approach called Maverick. It's on the full member site. Edited May 10, 2010 by Mreteuya

What "shill" would post up here and for what reason? If you've gone back and read through some of the older message traffic here, you'll find many exchanges with members of the Private forums who post up and answer questions brought up by the public members. The fact that you registered here is a good sign for sure. Most just come in, take a quick look around, can't find a way to make $10,000 on their next trip to the casino, and leave. They never even make the attempt to learn something. There is a thread that I've answered a few dozen times and the basics of it can be found in this thread:http://www.beatthecasino.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5597&p=18334#post18334So, if you'll go and check that out, do some reading, play the game a bit and see how you do, perhaps you'll come back and find out how to really play the game.I was a new guy here too almost a year ago. So far, it's been the best year of baccarat I've ever had.MVS Quote What's an MVSeahog?
Users dweezel7 Posted May 13, 2010 Author Users Report Share Posted May 13, 2010 thanks for responding to my post. Sorry to use the word "shill", but I have lost a lot trying various methods at craps and have become a little jaded. My bankroll (for now) is $1,000. can I get anything done with that? MVSeahog
thanks for responding to my post. My bankroll (for now) is $1,000. can I get anything done with that?Dweezel, Well, that's what I buy in at the casino with these days. I really never need it as I do it only for the dinner comp. I believe that our largest "buy-in" recommendation bankroll is 40 times your betting units. A $1000 would work fine on a $25 table. Find the $10 table and you've got a lot of buffer room there for sure. Luckily my local land based casino does have $10 tables so it's no problem. Have you been playing much baccarat or are you new to the game? If you're relatively new to the game, there will probably be a learning curve to get "up to speed" on the nuances of the game, but it's nothing that can't be overcome rather quickly. Personally I gave up on craps play a long time ago but my brother still gives it his best effort. I went to baccarat because I can sit down, it's usually quieter and there's only two things to bet! Users dweezel7 Posted May 14, 2010 Author Users Report Share Posted May 14, 2010 My goal is to make $500 a day. I understand that I should join the private forums to learrn how to play effectively. I have played Baccarat about 6 hours total. My questions are:1. Can I do this online? I am in Boise, but can travel.2. How much time and money (assuming I am average) will it take to become good enough to make $500 a day?3. Which system is the most likely to succeed? I know you cant answer that here. Is it obvious when I join the private forum, or are there a dozen systems that I will have to learn?4. Will anyone be available to help me? Thanks! Several members have met up in Las Vegas, Tunica and AC to play together, but it's not required by any means.#2 - Hard to say. Baccarat is an interesting game to say the least. As several of our members have said in the past, they're not here for fun and games, they're here to make money at baccarat. We do have at least two people that I'm aware of making the kind of profits you're talking about (I'm not one of them) and I have no doubt there are others who don't post up nearly as much as the chatterboxes like me. Also, I don't win $500 a day because I don't play more that a shoe or two at a time. It is work for me and I treat it as such.#3 - I think the general concensus is that Maverick, AD/OT and NuSap may be the top three system plays at this time. Each has it's own character and style. One that fits me may not fit your style of play. That's probably why there's more than one and they all attack the shoes past performance data.#4 - The fact that I'm answering this question at midnight should answer that one for sure! Seriously, there are many real players, not just loud mouths, who can and will answer questions. We all have them. I still have them and am not bashful about asking to clarify a play or decision. I would seriously recommend that you get fully up to speed on baccarat play. Buy 8 decks of cards and start dealing them out in the living room table and play. Get comfortable and familiar with the scoring and basic card handling. The rules of the game may at first seem very strange and at best, illogical, but a few days of talking to yourself while dealing out hands and it will start to make sense. I am only a moderator here. I am NOT part of the paid staff so please don't think of this as one giant advertisement. Even if I was only a normal private member, I would probably have written the same stuff. Also, don't kid yourself. Playing everyday in the casino is work. Go at it with that attitude and you should do OK. Learn your craft, practice, practice and more practice and then start off small to convince yourself that it really works FOR YOU. You say you've played a lot of craps in the casinos. At least you've seen the inside of one. There's a lot of "experts" out there who only know what they read, they've never actually put real money down on the table. Plan accordingly. Practice is always good and keeps your brain thinking about the game. MVS (only two shoes today. +7 and +10) Quote What's an MVSeahog?
