I would appreciate if anyone of you could give me recent info. on Baccarat in Atlantic City: such as good casinos to play in term of table selection, readable shoes trends ( if this exists ) etc., if they have tote boards in every casinos ?I hope to play $10 tables. I heard 'Claridge' has tables for that. Is there any other casinos ?I'll be there on Dec 19-22. If anyone will be there playing, would you kindly let me know. Perhaps we could meet up ?Zen
Users ECD Posted December 10, 2010 Users Report Share Posted December 10, 2010 Hi Zen, good to hear from you. While most of the AC casinos are lowering their stakes in response to the new PA casinos , you are going on a weekend right when they raise their stakes so $10 units will probably be rare and Claridge may be your best bet. Most now have tote boards but AC players are good about showing you their score cards just in case.
Zenwin
Thanks Ellis, it's nice talking to you again. I'll be there on weekdays before Christmas. All hotel's rooms are cheap. (Hopefully they aren't going to raise their stakes, not yet ?)I missed your last PA casino meeting. Next time another meeting comes up, I'll try to be there. Some have recently gone own to $15 on daytime weekdays. The plaza has toteboards and no commission bacc. All of the shoes I have played at the plaza have done very well with OTB4L. Users jerseyslim Posted December 11, 2010 Users Report Share Posted December 11, 2010 Sinatra............It's been many years since I've been to A.C. I used to play at Trump Plaza all the time. It had the most occupied tables for baccarat of all the casinos in A.C. I'm surprised to hear they have a $20 table. In those days, the only $20 table was across the street at Ceasars. Howver, they had $10 tables in Trumps whereas Caesars always started at $20. Now I play in PA since it's only an hours drive for me rather than the 2 1/2 hours it takes for A.C. However, they never go lower at Mt. Airy than a $25 table. Do you live in NJ? Oh and by the way, are all the tables no commission or just certain ones.I go to TRump Plaza. They always have $20 tables available. Most others only have $25 and up. The Taj only has $50 up. Some have recently gone own to $15 on daytime weekdays. Sinatra1
I have a home about 40 minutes from AC. Since I retired last year i only spend about 6 months there. At the Plaza they have about 6 bacc tables and I think half are no commision. They have a dragon bet that pays 40-1. That's the bet that makes up for the commision. I think Showboat has a $15 weekday daytime $15 table. But they all go up nites and weekends except Plaza which is always $20.
Users ECD Posted December 11, 2010 Users Report Share Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) It's great to hear about A.C. my old stomping grounds. In the beginning (of Baccarat in A.C.) most used the old $20 standard Baccarat chip. It was all 14 Player Big Bac and the dealer shoe went from player to player and we dealt the cards. Shuffle machines, mini Bac, Midi Bac, tote boards and dealer dealt games were all yet to be invented. It was the friendliest game in the casino and most of the players knew each other. The Asians had yet to discover the game. Runs in the low and mid 20's were an everyday event. Those were the days! I had a permanent room at the Madison house, adjacent to the old Claridge. The Madison House had a huge bar on the ground floor which was the biggest dealer hang out in A.C. with 75 - 150 dealers every night. So I bought a dealer shirt and mingled with the dealers for three years and learned all their secrets. Living with the enemy was great! You quickly learn that in a casino, don't trust ANYBODY! They had their war stories too! Anyone who still thinks the cards are random in either BJ or Bac has never bought a pitcher of beer at the Madison House.Guys like Archer (Jimske) should be incarcerated there for a while to get their eyes opened. Just like I did! Edited December 11, 2010 by ECD
Zenwin
Just love those war stories !!No one yet has said where were the $10 tables. Possible to find ? 'Claridge' ? Anyone went there lately ?Zen
Sinatra1
If anywhere it would be the Claridge. I went there once and looked for them, found the pit where they were supposed to be but only found $10 BJ.
Sinatra1
Jerseyslim,I've been following your exploits. Still having success? How are you playing ? Are you playing the same in the casino as bet phoenix ?
Users jerseyslim Posted December 11, 2010 Users Report Share Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) Yes, things are still doing well. I play the same way on BP as I do in the casino. I'm pretty much following what the SAP count is telling me. If I have a high count on 1's, then I'm looking to either bet opposites or F2, depending on what's been happening lately in the shoe. If the 2's are running higher than the 1's, and you have a high count on 3's or 4's, I'm playing RD. Sometimes the shoe start out one way, but change later in the shoe. I once again keep my eyes out for what's happening with the 1's and 2's. I will also keep an eye out for an abundance of 2's running together. This of course would call for otb4l. To me the key is keeping an eye on what's been happening now, say over the last 10 hands or so, and balance that with what's been happening the rest of the shoe based on the SAP count. If things appear to be changing, you have two choices. You can either wait for it to come back in line with what the rest of the shoe has been doing or jump on what's happening now. If you go with what's happening now, be ready to bail after let's say 2 or 3 consecutive losses. Then wait and see where it's headed. Was this last series an aberition or is the shoe actually changing. It doesn't cost you money to sit on your hands and wait for things to sort out.Jerseyslim,I've been following your exploits.
