  1. I agree with Brad Í am a new player too (2 years only) and I am still playing $25 units as base bet You need to walk before you can run So find a low value game, maybe stadium baccarat or online, to get your strategy sorted
  2. Yes all taken in good humor of course February in NZ is peak summer time, so you would be unlucky to encounter any wet weather Doesn't mean you wont, of course
  3. Hey thanks mjmtong Yes most things are good here, as you say great food, excellent wines The only downside is the winter can be a bit tough sometimes although this year has been very mild
  4. here you go, a snapshot of Kiwi grandeur http://www.matakaurilodge.com/ This covers Matakauri Lodge, and the Farm at Cape Kidnappers
  5. I play that ever so slightly different, you stop betting UNLESS...and read my lips " the 3iar is a MC [RECENT] event" I added the "recent" bit to the phrase, its just the way I see it as most shoes change at some point
  6. Nice one w2f, that's all high end stuff. I have never stayed there nor played their golf courses. They will be fabulous Yes I certainly hope we can meet up, how can I not want to play baccarat with one of the greats of the game
  7. Very droll Oz, but great to see you maintaining your sense of humor
  8. Sounds like a great trip w2f Baccarat, eating. golf, there is not much missing......... And yes Aussie/Kiwi rivalry has always been strong in every way possible, but at then end of the day we are strong allies
  9. Hi way2fast Yes I live in Auckland, NZ so can be of help with anything you want to know There are a handful of casinos here, but SkyCity in Auckland is by far the biggest and with the greatest number of tables. The others are smaller boutique casinos, Christchurch being second biggest Feel free to flick me a PM if you need any specific information best regards Pando
  10. These last few posts from OZ and the replies to them are baccarat GOLD Thanks to everyone, please keep it going
  11. That's a great idea Brad I tried a similar thing for myself on the kitchen table but it was only one deck and inconclusive as you would expect
  12. I have wondered about this too, and have asked questions about cutting the deck for the same reasons There is no doubt that some shoes are biased, and some are not. What I do see from my records is that there is often a similarity in the shoe type on any particular day Whether this is deliberate or accidental is still up for debate But whatever the reason, its still essential to follow the shoe (pattern, trend)
  13. Well done Avion Its interesting that we can read something, and read it again without really understanding it fully Then suddenly, one piece of advice or word of experience from another player can be the final key to total understanding It happened to me, and it will happen to others
  14. I reckon that you should turn your argument (and frustration) around the other way Just learn ONE method, and then practice, practice, practice. (It took me 2 years to get one system ironed out in my mind) You have to know what kind of shoe and circumstances it will win or loose in That way you can select the good shoes for which ever method you have become an expert in You will see that by doing that you obey all the rules on the forum, such as picking the right shoe, not betting every hand, controlling your bank roll, and good money management. One follows the other to a large extent. Perhaps just learn S40 (3 modes) - its quite straight forward, limits your bets and can win big units IN THE RIGHT SHOE Hope this helps
  15. Thank you, CT70 that's very interesting I have seen many people win quite significant amounts (say up to $25,000) and it doesn't seem to bother the casino But then I cannot say that they do it on a regular basis Thanks for the information
  16. So CT70, pardon my ignorance what are the advantages for a player like yourself staying under the radar.
  17. This is simply the best thread ever Great contributions from Oz, Way2ast, Wolfat, Brad, Avion, CT70, mjmtong, and many others What more could we ask for Thanks guys
  18. I buy in for $3000, which is 30 units @ $100, this was from a $300 buy in on 02 July I already have the $3000 in chips from the last visit so I usually change $2000 into $100 (black) chips and $25 (green) chips I start playing green, even though my unit size is $100, and I ONLY move up to $100 units when I am ahead in the shoe The minimum bet here is $50, and in my other posts you will see me refer to $25 units. This is because I bet $50 (2 units) and sometimes $75 (3 units) before I move up through the levels into $100 IF I AM AHEAD Call me conservative, but that the way I play I don't have a stop loss either, I believe Oz is dead right about that If your play and MM is right, no need for a stop loss, nor a win target for that matter. All shoes are different.
  19. Yes especially when there are Banker 6's which pay half in the shoe I am meticulous with my physical money management
  20. I record my play to 1) Ensure my betting amount is correct (although its 90% flat betting) 2) To have a record of the shoe data as it finishes 3) To record my playing statistics (% win/loss etc) I make my decisions mentally from the tote board
  21. I think we can summarise the 3 goes to 4 trigger as follows; 1) How early in the shoe do we see a 4+IAR - the earlier the better 2) How long is the first 4+IAR - the longer the better 3) How many 3's do we see in the shoe before we see a 4+IAR - the fewer 3's the better I will see if I can pull some stats from my shoes to get exact numbers on those criteria
  22. Thanks Avion and XDotNet Its nothing that is in any manual, rather a collection of my playing experience and observation I haven't really been playing that long so I am always keeping an eye out for an edge cheers Pando
