  1. DarkValefor, Please expound on your experiences with online casinos who have cheated you. How ridiculous was this cheating? Where was it? MVS
  2. A lot of your "details" on things are coming up short. We deal in facts, not speculation. If you're still "researching" online casinos, PLEASE read their agreements AND their banking rules. It's your money!! MVS
  3. Last time I checked, Moneybookers does not accept US players. MVS
  4. All, I was just up at the Tampa Hard Rock casino and while wandering around I did notice a "single deck" blackjack game. OK, sounds interesting, I think I'll watch. 5 guys at the table, one dealer and ONE DECK. 1 player cuts the deck and she deals out the game. After ONE HAND, a new deck comes in play and the old deck gets sent to the shuffle machine. This happens after each SINGLE HAND. So, not only is it a single deck game, it is also a single hand game. I did notice that the dealer wouldn't let players who busted their hands actually turn over their cards for the others to see. Obviously this would be an advantage to the player at 3rd base for sure. So, is this how it's played at your local casino when dealing single deck? MVS
  5. Glenn, Read. Read everything. Then keep reading. Not just the new threads as they come up, but go back and read the older material. Read, search and read it again. Most people have found that going back in time and reading what the others have posted, both questions and answers, will make a lot of the material make a lot more sense. It's something that has been said many, many times here. READ as much as you can as often as you can. I still go back to double check things that I need to remember or brush up on. In fact, I just went back to check on a play method from 2009 to make sure it was being applied correctly to a few things today. You really can't go wrong reading the material over and over. MVS
  6. Keith, Many thanks for the update and be sure and tell him we all wish him well. MVS
  7. moneybac, I forgot to ask earlier, what casino was this in? MVS
  8. moneybac, Paragraphs are our friend. (hehehe) Anyway, I was intrigued with this shoe and at first glance, when I started to run it, I thought I would be in chop heaven. Obviously that 10 Banker run brought those thoughts to a screeching halt. B122211(10)1 P111121431131 B31223144 P24111 I was a bit troubled with the shoe and wondered if my old standby would work on it. I can see where some would want to jump into an F2 mode around hand 15 or so with Bank appearing to really start to run away with it and that would at least salvage the attempt at OTB4L. I test ran a simple S40/Adv (3-Hi) on it (BTC circa 2009) and it produced a very nice +16 to finish. I only wanted to comment that when it looks like you're starting to give it all back, it might be time to "pull back" and see what WOULD be working and then perhaps run with that. Of course a lot of that depends on your tolerance for losses and your wagering limit. I'm still kind of a "conservative" guy and tend to draw the line at 1,2,3 or 2,3,4 as my maximums. MVS
  9. kachatz1, Are you playing the live game using the casino's card for notation or are you using your own printed sheet? MVS
  10. All, OK, I just poured a fresh cup of tea and went back to read every single message in this thread. Here's the way it looks to me: I believe that BJplayer was making an honest and sincere effort to attempt to get a small group together on Skype in order to interact with like minded baccarat players. I do NOT believe there was anything nefarious in his plans or offer. BJplayer was not attempting the overthrow of the forum or anything else so self serving. This appeared to merely be an attempt to join up and talk, play, and perhaps eventually meet with like minded, registered members of this forum. For some reason the conversation drifted away from that and a small shouting match erupted. Perhaps a clash of egos from "Type A" personalities. We've all been there in our youth (and some later!) but we're aware that these things happen. Hopefully the thread will get back on track for arranging a Skype or internet live play chat otherwise it could very well be closed in a day or so. Nothing would stop anyone from starting another thread that was similar, as long as it remains civil. With that said, I have given DarkValeor a two day "time out" warning for "conduct unbecoming an officer". At least that's what they called it in the military when I got it. (Nothing to see here, move along). A private message has been sent to explain the reasoning. As most of the private members are also reading this thread, everyone will be aware of its current status. As the private members also know, we have our "arguments" too, but they are always within good, social guidelines for serious, adult baccarat players. A new idea does NOT need to turn into a shouting match if it is not ready for prime time. That's why it's an idea and not a full fledged plan of attack. So, let's see how the next few days go and if need be, this thread will close. For the time being, it should at least demonstrate how quickly something can go wrong once rumors and bad information start being tossed around like facts. Thanks for reading this. MVS (Adult Day Care Administrator)
  11. Gentlemen, OK, it's almost time to think about taking a step back and taking a break. Let's try to get back on track with the Skype discussion and baccarat. Continued unproductive arguments are not a hallmark of this forum. So, hopefully we will all just kind of drift away from the "smack talk" and get back to business!! Enough on that for now. Being adults does bring a certain amount of restraint at times. Deal with it. MVS
  12. Well, it could be me but my beard has a "bit" more grey in it. MVS (actually it has a LOT more grey in it.)
  13. OK, here it is. The first "How to put my Location In" tutorial. Click on the "Settings" in the upper right hand corner of this page (or the main Forum page). On the left hand side of the page click on "Edit Profile". Run down to the middle of the page where it says "Location". Fill it in. ("Whatever, Man" would not be an acceptable choice for serious baccrat players.) Run down to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes". If you're REALLY feeling wild and crazy, go ahead and type in your Skype name in the appropriate box too!! Life will be much better for you from then on. MVS
  14. The Skype idea has been used, with success, in the past and there are several of us here who have been involved with it. Back when "Mark" was running his Maverick program full speed, he did run quite a few "multiple person" Skype sessions where everyone was on Bet Phoenix at the same time and talking to each other, all making the same wagers. Everyone got the same information and generally all made the same wagers. When it works good, it works VERY good. It can be done, but does require a LOT of coordination by the "host" and miscellaneous conversation needs to be kept to a minimum when actually playing on the table in the baccarat game. If there is too much "chatter", the concentration level really falls apart and mistakes are made! I would suggest that whomever decides to head up something like this, to give it at least two "test" sessions with actually getting all of the participants into a group call and then having everyone play on the same table at a pre-determined online casino. You may also find that using the "chat" mode (typed) rather than voice mode works a little better, especially if there are more than 10 users in the group call. Obviously you should make the first test sessions in a casino with a free play table available to confirm the viability of the concept. Most of the small problems can then be worked out to see what works best with the people you'll have available. MVS (Skype name is "AirCav")
  15. Very nice "cut and paste" right from the front page of their site. I did try to set up a test account but as I'm on a USA IP address, it was rejected. Oh well. I'm really not all that sure I need dancing dealers to make my baccrat experience "more exciting". I find that just cashing in chips is about the level of excitement that keeps me happy now. MVS
  16. Darkvalefor, If you're having that much trouble with your online casino, I would suggest you not play it. You never did mention what casino you actually do play at while online. Please let me know so I can avoid it!! MVS
  17. Dark, OK, one more time. I only play the LIVE DEALT baccarat games. Never the RNG or computer simulation games. Live dealer = Yes! Computer = No. Get it? MVS
  18. Dark, Well, that's OK if you're reasonably close to a casino but for many of us, it turns into an "all day affair" to go to the "local" B&M casino. For some, the problems of cigarette smoke, noisy people, obnoxious table mates and several other distractions are not what they are looking for when playing baccarat to win. If one is vigilant and keeps their online balance at a reasonable level, the comfort and convenience of online play is a huge plus. All that and I can brew up a correct spot of tea for the shoe at any time! MVS
  19. I don't know as I've never been "dormant". Call them and ask. I do know that my old Racebook online account had been untouched for over a year before I found out they had restarted under a new name and my account was just as I left it with no "dormant" fees at all. No I don't. I don't do any bonus play. Call them and ask what the "play through" requirements are. Once again, to everyone reading this thread who is thinking about opening an online casino account. Read the agreement and if you have questions, CALL THEM. If you can't get a hold of anyone before you send them money, it will probably be just as bad once you have a problem and need to call them. MVS
  20. jsintl, Hmm, I don't believe I've ever paid any fee to take money out. I use the "once a month" free check thing. I have noticed that a lot of online casinos really take a big chunk out of your winnings when you go to get your money. I don't understand why players insist on pulling their money out several times a week, AND PAYING TO DO IT! Anyway, use the one free one a month and it will be delivered to your front door by FedEx drawn on a Canadian bank. MVS
  21. kachatz1 speaks the truth. Read as much as you can in previous threads. The NOR manual is the guideline and a huge amount of information comes from the people playing it and using it. Not only will the older threads bring you up to speed, it will fill you in on where a lot of these ideas have come from. Yes, it's boring digging through months old information when you'd rather be in the casino making money. Don't rush. Take your time. Learn the material inside and out. I still go back and read things because my notes are all over the room and sometimes I just need to clarify a position or a play. Make notes in your NOR manual. When practicing be sure and explain to yourself just WHY you made that wager. If you can't answer that question for every bet, you're not up to speed. The "Modes" seem to throw everyone for a loop the first time they are encountered. Take your time, reason it out, write it down and understand why you just changed. This will come to you, it just won't be overnight. MVS
  22. OK, let me pull some headers from the NOR manual. Here's the first 20: 1. The Purpose of this manual. 2. What is an approach. 3. The NOR approach to Baccarat on the twelve tenets of baccarat. 4. Twelve steps to winning. 5. Baccarat systems in general 6. The NOR concept. 7. NOR Performance. 8. General. 9. The two NOR modes. 10. The three NOR systems. 11. The three NOR strategies. 12. Overlap. 13. NOR win goals. 14. Baccarat shoe length and stats. 15. Events. 16. NOR score cards. 17. Sequence. 18. BTC shorthand for shoe posting. 19. The three NOR systems. 20. A couple of shoe start pointers. And that takes us up to page 11 of the NOR manual. Hope this helps. MVS
